The UW-Fox men’s basketball team defeated UW-Fond du Lac on Monday night 93-70 at the UW-Fox Fieldhouse. The Cyclones had a season high 19 assists and shot 45% from the floor, including 43% from beyond the arc. Despite not having one of their better defensive outings, they did force 22 turnovers and hold the Falcons to only 5 offensive rebounds.
The Cyclones struggled through most of the first half, but a Joe Veltus (Kaukauna) 3-pointer gave them a 46-35 halftime lead. The Cyclones got off to a quick start in the 2nd half keyed by some Korey Jagiello post scores. A 3-point field goal from Chris Searl (Appleton West) with 5:47 remaining pushed the Cyclone lead to 20.
Korey Jagiello (New London) led UW-Fox with 21 points and 7 rebounds. He scored 17 of those in the 2nd half. Eric Schultz (Appleton East) scored 15 points, and Travis Puyleart (Green Bay Preble) 14, to help the Cyclone cause. Charlie Cash scored 26 points to lead the visiting Falcons.
With the win UW-Fox pushes its record to 8-0 in the WCC-East, 15-1 overall. They will return to action at home this Saturday when the host UW-Richland in a non-conference game at 3pm in the UW-Fox Fieldhouse.
