Cyclones Fall To Blue Devils

UW-Manitowoc 93 at UW-Fox 88

For the first time since 2008-2009 the Cyclones lost a WCC-East home game on Monday night.  The Cyclones were defeated by UW-Manitowoc 88-93.  With the win the Blue Devils (10-0, 6-0) stay undefeated in the WCC-East and overall, while the Cyclones fall to 8-3 overall, 5-1 in the WCC-East.

The Cyclones allowed the Blue Devils to shoot over 57% for the game, and only made 14 of their 29 free-throws, including 3 missed front ends of bonus free-throws.  It was an uncharacteristic defensive performance for UW-Fox who had four players score in double figures led by Sam Schreiber and Chase Hawley.  The two had 21 and 20 points respectively.  Jon Schlaver also had 14 points and Trevor Krizenesky 13 for UW-Fox.

UW-Manitowoc was led by Xavier Fletcher who scored 20 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots.  Olentda Bryant almost had a triple double for the Blue Devils with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The Cyclones return to action on Wednesday night.  They host Fox Valley Technical College in a non-conference game.  Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
