UW-Fox Downs UW-Fond du Lac

(Menasha) Jon Braeger poured in 26 points to lead the UW-Fox men’s basketball team to a 72-57 home victory over UW-Fond du Lac at the UW-Fox Fieldhouse.  The Cyclones were coming off of one of their worst losses since the 2008-2009 season.

UW-Fox turned up their defensive intensity to open the second half.  An 18-2 run catapulted them out to a 56-34 lead.  The run was fueled by several steals and transition baskets.  Jordan Kaufman had 5 steals and Trevor Smith 4 to lead the Cyclones.  As a team UW-Fox recorded 19 steals for the game, the most since Lee Rabas took over as head coach in 2009.

Braeger connected on 6 three-point field goals and shot 50% for the game.  His 16 first half point helped the Cyclones jump out to a 38-32 half-time lead.

Matt Lehner chipped in with 14 points for UW-Fox.  Smith and Kaufman also added 7 and 5 assists respectively for the Cyclones.

With the win the Cyclones move to 6-2 overall, 4-1 in the WCC-East.  They will close out their slate of games before finals with a visit to 8-1 (5-0) UW-Manitowoc on Monday December 10th.  That game is scheduled for a 7:30pm tip-off in Manitowoc.
