UW-Fox Defeats Fox Valley Tech

The UW-Fox men’s basketball team defeated Fox Valley Technical College on Friday night 73-55 to once again sweep the season series with the Foxes.  The Cyclones blew open a 2 point halftime lead on the strength of 58% shooting in the 2nd half, including 42% from 3-point range.
In the opening half the Cyclones struggled shooting the basketball.  UW-Fox shot a chilling 23% from 3-point range and 37% overall.  Fortunately for the Cyclones freshman Aaron Gosse had no problems finding the net in the opening half.  Gosse came off the bench to score 10 points, including 3 triples.  He would finish with 12 points and 5 rebounds.  Both season highs.
The second half saw the Cyclones bust out of their shooting woes.  Travis Puyleart, who finished with 20 points, scored 16 in the second half, while Eric Schultz also helped the cause with 13 points, including 10 in the final half.  The two combined to shoot 5/9 from 3-point range.
While Puyleart and Schultz provided the perimeter scoring, Korey Jagiello took care of things inside.  The 6-4 sophomore from New London scored 24 points, hitting 11 of his 15 field goal attempts, and grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.
With the win the UW-Fox men move to 14-1 overall.  They return to WCC-East action on Monday night when they host UW-Fond du Lac at the UW-Fox Fieldhouse.  Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
